General Distribution:
South Africa (Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal) Bruyns (book ms.): rather poorly known in Kwazulu-Natal between Pietermaritzburg, Durban and Port Shepstone (where many of its former habitats appear to have been destroyed by agriculture and by urban expansion) and it is much more widely documented in the Eastern Cape, especially from the Kei River westwards to around Grahamstown, where it has been recorded at altitudes from near sea level to over 1100 m.
